Hope

Edyta Jarząb
Waiting for Diana
a multi-channel installation/performative listening experience for voice, body, microphones, electronics reel-to-reel tape recorder and field recordings realised in Mathare, Kenya
‘Diana Adhiambo is a poet from Nairobi. I am waiting to record her voice when she reads her poems. Diana doesn’t come because she’s working, or she’s going to church, or they’ve just brought water and it’s been gone for a week. I wait, listen and record the voices. Women’s voices: pretty, warm, almost inaudible, exaggerated and monstrous.’ – Edka Jarząb
