Canti Spazializzati is a workshop and concert series dedicated to theories and practices of experimental music focused on concepts of spatialization / spatialization of sound compositions, set in the space and quadro/octophonic sound system of PROZA club. It is a continuation of the idea of Canti Illuminati Festival focused on the presentation of new phenomena in electronic music and Wroclaw’s quadrophonic tradition (presented in an expanded program during the 14th edition of the Sound Stage of the Survival Art Review. During the first edition, premiere spatial compositions were presented by Jędrzej Borowski, Eisberg, Beniamin Głuszek, Hubert Kostkiewicz.
The evening opened with a projection of Tomasz Sikorski’s four-channel composition “Loneliness of Sounds” (1975) – a work realized at the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center. Different from those commonly associated with the period of the rash of experimental studio radio productions (1968-75, also at the Experimental Studio of Polish Radio), it clearly departs from concrete sound material, focusing on the creation of imaginary acoustic space.
PROGRAMME:
Jędrzej Borowski – 01
Beniamin Głuszek – QuadrEEGphony
Hubert Kostkiewicz – Emergetyki
Eisberg – 04

Jan Eisberg
In his compositions, he generally uses unwanted, usually filtered sounds such as tape noise and electrical shorts. He recorded his album “U A I,” released on the now-defunct BDTA label, among others, based on just these types of sounds, augmented by the sound of small synthesizers. In his compositions he also makes use of field recordings on tape and small clippings from audio cassettes found in yards of abandoned bazaars.
